Description: Learn how to set a default tax rate to automatically apply to new items.

Note: This feature is currently available only for non-Dine Pilot users.

Note: Invoicing features are not available on Shift4 Dine.

Set the Default Item Tax

  1. Log in to Shift4 Customer Hub and select Invoicing> Default Tax.

  2. Enter the Tax Rate (%).

  3. Select one of the following:
    • Save to apply the default tax rate.
    • Clear to remove the default tax rate.

Notes:

  • The default tax rate is automatically applied to all new items.
  • Updating the default tax rate does not affect previously created items.
