What is Opera Payment Links (OPI Cloud Integrated)?

Opera Payment Links (OPI Cloud Integrated) allows hotel operators to generate and send secure payment links to guests directly from Oracle Opera using the existing integration between Opera and Shift4. After a guest completes payment, Oracle Opera automatically retrieves the payment status and updates the reservation.

Who is this product for?

Hotel merchants using Shift4 payment processing with Oracle Opera Cloud (OPI Cloud) who do not require fiscalization for their region.

How does an operator create a payment link?

Operators initiate the payment link directly from Oracle Opera. No separate login or manual payment link creation is required.

How does the guest receive the payment link?

Oracle Opera delivers the payment link to the guest using its standard guest communication methods, such as email.

How does Oracle Opera know when a guest has paid?

Oracle Opera automatically polls Shift4 for payment status. Once payment is confirmed, the reservation is updated automatically.

How often does Oracle Opera check payment status?

For Oracle Opera Cloud version 26.1 and later, payment status polling is automatic.

  • The minimum polling interval is 60 minutes.
  • If no polling interval is configured, Oracle checks every 24 hours.
  • If polling is not configured, payment status is checked during End of Day processing.

Can a payment link be canceled?

Yes. Merchants using Oracle xStore can cancel an outstanding payment link if it is no longer needed.

Where can I view payment reporting?

Payment transactions processed through this integration are available in Customer Hub.
