Disabled Features Considerations

General

  • The status bar is hidden
  • Notification Center on click is disabled
  • No employee dashboard
  • No support for Settings changes
  • Wi-Fi or Cellular data connection (Wi-Fi preferred)

Login

  • Login Type will be forced to “Table Service” to ensure a constant flow of operation and to avoid issues, as other login types aren’t being handled.

Order Entry

  • No fast quantity
  • No customer selection
  • Only buttons present in Order Entry are Pay, Guest Count, Discounts, Gratuities, and Print

Order Entry

  • To avoid weird behaviours with menu items that contain weighted items, we’ll handle such items as “open weight” (enable Manager > Settings > Menu > Items > “Item sold by weight” and “Enable Manual quantity” to replicate the same behaviour on the Workstation)
  • Scanning an item is enabled through the search, i.e., the search allows you to find an item by its UPC.

Payments

  • No Fast Payment
  • Cash rounding disabled
  • Pre-Auth

Payments

  • Payments are always tendered in full
  • Force "OnBoard Reader" Payment Device Setting
  • Force ticket to auto-close once payment is completed
  • Force ticket to auto-print once payment is completed

Important Settings to Configure 

Handheld does not have access to the Settings page. However, you may need to set some items from a terminal, specifically the default receipt printer, which drives the suggested tip percentages. Handheld leverages the same printer setup parameters currently used by the Tablet.
