Adjust the Date and Time on a PAX A800

Description: Make sure the date and time on the A800 Shift4 Duo device match the timezone settings of the POS system by learning how to adjust them together for consistency.

Note: If the date or time is inaccurate, this could cause issues like inability to sync or not being able to log in to the Shift4 PATT app.

  1. To begin, reboot the unit by pressing and holding the power button on the device to access the Settings menu.

  2. Once rebooted, select the Settings app on the A800’s homepage.
  3. When prompted, enter the password 9876.
        •   If this password is unsuccessful, newer models may use the password pax9876@@.

Important: If the incorrect time is displayed on the top right corner of the device when selecting these options, you will have to temporarily disable the "Use network-provided time zone," adjust it manually under "Select time zone" and then re-enable the "Use network-provided time zone."
  7. Once those two settings are enabled, simply back out of the screen and reattempt to access the Shift4 Duo application.
