Identify Condiments in MICROS RES

Check Whether the Item Appears in xDine

If an item is missing from the Base POS Item dropdown, or a modifier value dropdown does not show the values you expect, start in xDine.

1. In xDine, go to Items + Menus > Default Values.
2. If you do not see the item in this list, follow the knowledge base article Resolve a Missing Menu Item in MICROS RES
3. If you do see the item but it is not showing up in the place you expect, use the steps below to find out whether it is a condiment.

Condiments do not show up in the Base POS Item dropdown, and items that are not condiments do not show up in the Modifier Value POS Item dropdowns.

Identify a Condiment in MICROS RES

1. Navigate to POS Configurator > Sales > Menu Items.
2. Find the item you want to validate.
3. On the Groups tab, check whether the Condiment Membership dropdown is disabled. The dropdown is disabled if it is grayed out and you cannot select it to choose a value. If you cannot choose a value, it is disabled.

Use the state of the dropdowns to determine how the item is configured:

• If the Condiment Membership dropdown is disabled and the Required Condiment and Allowed Condiment dropdowns are enabled, this item is NOT a condiment/modifier value.
• If the opposite is true — the Condiment Membership dropdown is enabled but the Required Condiment and Allowed Condiment dropdowns are disabled — this item IS a condiment/modifier value.
• If all the dropdowns are disabled, the item probably does not have a Menu Item Class set on the General tab. Fix that first.

Note: Condiments will not appear in the Base POS Item dropdown in xDine.

Important: If the Condiment Membership dropdown is disabled but there is a value set from before, xDine might think the item is a condiment. To be sure, change the Menu Item Class to a condiment class, delete the Condiment Membership value, and then set the Menu Item Class back the way it was.

Identify a Condiment from the Menu Item Class Configuration

You can also determine whether an item is a condiment in MICROS RES by looking at the Menu Item Class configuration.

1. On the General tab, view which Menu Item Class is assigned to that item.
2. Go to the Menu Item Class configuration page and find that class.
3. On the General Options tab, check whether the Condiments box is checked.

• If the Condiments box is checked, any item with that Menu Item Class is a condiment.
• If the Condiments box is not checked, any item with that Menu Item Class is not a condiment.
