Publish an Enterprise Recommendation Group in xDine

Publish an Enterprise Recommendation Group

Once you have created a recommendation group inside your Enterprise location, you can manage and publish the group to child locations. This works similarly to Item and Menu Enterprise management.

1. Select Save Changes after creating your recommendation group.
2. Once saved, select Manage Locations and select the locations you want to link the group to. Select Save Changes again.
3. Select Publish to pull up the locations for validation, and request an item validation for all locations you plan to publish to. This confirms that all items you plan to link to the group have been validated and exist in the child location. If validation fails, select Fix Errors for the items that did not pass. This may mean selecting a new POS item or selecting a matching xDine item to use for that location.
4. Once validation is complete, select Publish to send the group to the child locations you selected.

Recommendation Group Publishing Limitations

• You can only publish one recommendation group at a time.
• The logic for publishing items in a recommendation group is the same as for menu publishing. xDine asks you to Fix Errors if an item cannot be found in the child location, and applies the same skipping criteria for items. For example, if a link definition exists but items are unlinked in a menu, the item will not be validated or published with the recommendation group.
• Each categorization tag must be associated with at least one item in the location. If a child location has no items with the same tag name, that tag will not be published in the recommendation group. You will see a message stating there are no items with that categorization tag, and that the recommendation group was published successfully without the tag.
• Deleting a child location's recommendation group that is linked to the Enterprise unlinks that location from the Enterprise recommendation group.
• Deleting the Enterprise location's recommendation group deletes all links, but child locations' recommendation groups remain available.
• If an item from the recommendation group is deleted under Items + Menus > Items, that item is automatically removed from the recommendation group.
