Offline processing allows you to continue accepting payments without an internet connection or if the location cannot reach the gateway. When a location goes offline, the goal of offline processing is to continue to allow the location to accept credit card tenders, storing those transactions for later authorization.

Note: Shift4 Duo does not have an offline mode. This behavior is expected, so there is no need to contact Support when the device is unable to process orders or payments during an internet outage.
