Epson TM-m30 Paper Reduction Settings

Description: Enable the built-in Paper Reduction settings within the Epson TM-M30 thermal receipt printer with the below steps. This can drastically shorten the length of a receipt but, in turn, will reduce the amount of space between each line.

To begin, open the Start menu and locate the EPSON TM-m30 Utility. Double-click to open.

Highlight the correct printer from the list that populates. By default, the primary printer should already be highlighted. Click OK to select.

Select the Paper Reduction tab. This will display the current settings for paper reduction. By default, all the settings will be disabled. To shorten the receipt length, configure the following:

  • Extra Upper Space Reduction: Enable
  • Extra Lower Space Reduction: Enable
  • Line Space Reduction Rate: 75%
  • Line Feed Reduction Rate: 75%
  • Barcode Height Reduction Rate: Not reduce
  • Amount of top margin by backfeed: Disabled

Below is an example of receipts with the Normal settings and Reduced settings enabled for both Standard (non-EMV) and EMV-enabled tickets.
