SkyTab POS v1.124.8 Release Plan
- Released to all merchants via rollout starting 5/19/26.
SkyTab POS is now officially Shift4 Dine! You’ll now see Shift4 Dine reflected across communications, support materials, and within the POS system itself. While the name is new, your core operations, interface, and functionality remain the same — now supported by a unified global platform designed for today’s restaurants and tomorrow’s growth.
New Features
- Updated the main payment screen on Handheld with a new dropdown menu for faster and more intuitive payment method selection.
- Introduced a new Split Evenly icon to divide checks evenly among guests, with pre-calculated split amounts and a streamlined multi-payment workflow.
- You can now correct errors within a split payment flow by voiding cash or credit transactions directly from the payments list, automatically restoring the balance without restarting the process.
- Added support for multi-tender payments on Handheld.

- Cash Discounting
- QR Pay is now supported by Handheld, allowing guests to complete secure, contactless payments by scanning a QR code to access a mobile checkout page and pay using supported digital payment methods, including cryptocurrency.
- Pay with Crypto is now supported on Handheld.
- Added support for printing a configurable marketing QR code (with optional message) on guest checks and receipts.
- Digital Receipt Enhancements: Digital receipts can now be re-sent for completed tickets on the Workstation.
- Kitchen Ticket Enhancements: Kitchen tickets now display "WITH: [parent item name]" to improve modifier and side item context.
- Linked Parent Item Setting: Added new printer setting "Show Linked Parent Item on Routed Tickets" to control parent item visibility.

- Improved speed of app navigation, with a simpler invoice flow focused on ticket completion (including adding surcharges, gratuities, and discounts with cash and credit payments).
- Integrated the QR Pay tender option into the redesigned payment flow for Handheld, ensuring payment consistency, avoiding double charges, and maintaining clear user expectations when guests pay via their own devices.
- After splitting a ticket by seat, the split number is now assigned to the correct seat.
- Default tender updated to Credit instead of Cash.
- Improved tip flow and gratuity clarity with a redesigned tip screen.
- Added on-device tip hints with pre-auth flows.
- Enabled automatic tip adjustment for pre-auth closures.
- Added A800 onboard printer auto-detection and configuration.
- Enhanced label printer formatting with improved font size and spacing.
- Improved loyalty messaging for item-level discounts.

- Updated VAT validation to accept both VAT ID and legal name for invoices.
- Receipt selection screen now auto-dismisses to "No Receipt" when appropriate (e.g., auto-logout).
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the duplication of refunded items in customer history.
- Fixed an issue that could prevent the tip prompt from appearing on the Display, ensuring a more consistent checkout experience.
- Fixed an issue that allowed employees to continue using a restricted tender type after an initial override, particularly on Handheld. Ensures tender type permission is enforced with every payment transaction.
- Fixed an issue where ticket creation would occasionally fail when a ticket with an automatic purchase rule discount was created on Shift Duo.
- Fixed an issue where employee access to a tender type is always validated. Improved job checks to better confirm employee access, preventing unauthorized transactions.
- Resolved an issue where Pre-Auth Payments were being excluded from Tip Hint calculations.
- Fixed UI issues where elements could flash after printing from completed tickets.
- Addressed sync error handling with new recoverable error support and replay mechanisms.
- Fixed issues related to printer formatting and ticket display consistency.
