Configure Simphony Combos in xDine

Combo Meals in Simphony and xDine
In Simphony, you can create the concept of a combo. For example, a burger costs $10.00 and fries cost $5.00, but a burger/fries combo only costs $12. xDine can be configured to use Simphony combos.

Combo Support Limitations in xDine
xDine has limited support for combos in Simphony:
- xDine can be used to submit combos to Simphony.
- However, only combos that do not use upcharges are supported. For example, a burger/fries combo costs $12, but you can sub in large fries for an extra $1. That upcharge is not supported.
Set Up a Combo Item in xDine
In Simphony, you have a combo main item group and one or more side item groups. Create a matching modifier in xDine for each of these groups.
- Create a new item under Items+Menus > Items.
- Set the Type to Combo.
- Enter the Combo Meal Object Number. This is the object number found in EMC under Configuration > Sales > Combo Meals.
- Select a base POS item. This is the item in Simphony that represents the combo of all of the items.
- Create one modifier in xDine to represent the Simphony main item group. Under POS Modifier Type, select Combo Main. Within this modifier group, you can program modifier items that can be ordered as the combo main item. These items must match what has been configured in Simphony.
- For each of the side item groups in Simphony, create an xDine modifier. Under POS Modifier Type, select Combo Side. Within this modifier group, you can program modifier items that can be ordered as the combo side item. These items must match what has been configured in Simphony.
- If you want to support modifiers on the combo main item or any of the combo side items, create another modifier. Under POS Modifier Type, select Combo Main/Side Modifier, then select the modifier that it is linked to under Link to modifier.
