Configure Text-to-Pay in MICROS RES

Before You Configure Text-to-Pay in MICROS RES

In order for the Text-to-Pay module to function, you need to add a menu item that can collect the phone number and load a SIM in MICROS RES.

Important: DO NOT install the SIM until you have first upgraded to the latest version of xDine.exe and added the Phone Number item to xDine's remote config. Putting the SIM in without those other steps will result in errors.

Create the Menu Item Class and Menu Item in MICROS RES

1. Open POS Config.
2. Navigate to Sales > Menu Item Classes.
3. Copy an existing class or create a new one. Make sure the following properties are set:
   • General Options > Condiments is unchecked
   • General Options > Reference Required is checked
4. Navigate to Sales > Menu Items.
5. Copy an existing menu item or create a new one.
6. Name the item Phone Number. You are welcome to choose a different name.
7. Set the Menu Item Class to the class you created in step 3.
8. Set the Price to $0.00.
9. Make sure the Reporting Major Group and Family Group are populated.
10. Remove any Condiments from the Definition > Groups tab.
11. Provide the Item Number to your xDine Deployment Technician.

Upload the Text-to-Pay SIM Script in POS Config

1. Open POS Config.
2. Navigate to Devices > ISL Files. If you do not see this option, skip to Upload the Text-to-Pay SIM Manually.
3. Select the + icon.
4. Select the Dir button and set it to ${MICROS_DIR_POS_ETC}.
5. Choose the folder icon next to the File Name input and select the PMS109.isl file provided by the xDine technician.
6. Save your work.

Upload the Text-to-Pay SIM Manually

You do not need to complete these steps if you were able to upload the SIM into POS Config.

1. Make sure you obtain the pms109.isl file from the xDine Deployments team.
2. Copy this file into the various CAL folders used for your workstation types:
   • Win32 (IE Workstation 6) — C:\Micros\Res\CAL\WIN32\Files\Micros\Res\POS\ETC
   • Workstation 5a — C:\Micros\Res\CAL\WS5A\Files\CF\Micros\ETC
   • Workstation 5 — C:\Micros\Res\CAL\WS5\Files\CF\Micros\ETC
   • Workstation 4 — C:\Micros\Res\CAL\WS4\Files\CF\Micros\ETC

Configure the Text-to-Pay Interface in MICROS RES

1. Open POS Config.
2. Navigate to Devices > Interfaces.
3. Select the + icon.
4. Change the SIM number to 109.
5. Name the interface Eigen xDine Phone Number.
6. Set the Outgoing Message Name to X_PHONE_NUM.
7. Set the Network Node to the server node (usually 99).
8. Set the Number ID Digits to 9.
9. Select the checkbox labeled SIM Interface.
10. Set Interface Type to TCP.
11. On the Interface tab, set the TCP Server Name to 127.0.0.1.
12. Set the TCP Port Number to 5013.
