Identify Condiments in Simphony

Check Whether the Item Appears in xDine

If an item is missing from the Base POS Item dropdown, or a modifier value dropdown does not show the values you expect, start in xDine.

1. In xDine, go to Items + Menus > Default Values.
2. If you do not see the item in this list, follow the knowledge base article Resolve a Missing Menu Item in Simphony.
3. If you do see the item but it is not showing up in the place you expect, use the steps below to find out whether it is a condiment.

Condiments do not show up in the Base POS Item dropdown, and items that are not condiments do not show up in the Modifier Value POS Item dropdowns.

Identify a Condiment in Simphony

1. Navigate to EMC > Configuration > Menu Item Maintenance.
2. Find the item you would like to validate.
3. To the right of the Menu Item Class field there is a left facing arrow. Select the arrow to be taken right to the menu item class. If there is no Menu Item Class, make sure this is configured first.
4. When looking at the menu item class, go to the Options tab.
5. Check option bit 2 - On = Condiment Menu Items; Off = Regular Menu Items:
   • If it is checked, the item is a condiment.
   • If it is not checked, the item is not a condiment.
6. If option bit 2 is unchecked and the item is not a condiment, also go to the Condiment Groups tab and make sure no boxes are ticked in the Member Condiment Group list.
