Configure a Service Charge in Squirrel for Shift4 Dine

Description: Learn how to configure a service charge in Squirrel for use with xDine.

If you need to create a service charge, most commonly used for delivery, you must create a special menu item in Squirrel that xDine will use as the service charge. Follow these steps:

Create the Service Charge Menu Item

Go to Daily Setup > Menu Entry Setup.
Select the * icon to create a new menu item.
Name the menu item something like "Delivery XSC" or "Delivery $5 XSC."
- The item name must include the letters XSC, which stands for xDine Service Charge.
Set the type to Item.
Set a price equivalent to the charge you want to apply.
Do not select Open Name.
Select Open Price for percentage-based service charges. Leave it unselected for dollar-based service charges.

You can create as many of these menu items as needed. xDine will use any item with XSC in the name.

Synchronize the Menu

Go to the xDine Admin Portal.
Select Synchronize.
